Repair Airfield Fire Protection System, NASJRB, Fort Worth, TX. 2CMD performed engineering design, quality assurance and overall project management for a $2.2 million design-build contract with the US Navy. Replacing approximately 12,000 LF of existing 10-inch transite fire protection line, a meter vault and 27 flush mounted fire hydrants installed along the east side of Runway 17/35. New 12-inch C900 PVC pipe approximately 15,000 LF will be constructed along the adjacent taxiway Foxtrot with 35 fire hydrants. A new meter and backflow preventer vault is also provided. The project also includes approximately 2,000 LF of pipe boring under the existing taxiways. Design-Build
Fuse Tank Storage Building, NAS-JRB, Fort Worth, TX. 2CMD performed construction of a 3,000-square foot pre-engineered metal building. The project consisted of 122’x24’ building with five overhead doors and standing seam roof with an average eave height of 15-feet. The building consisted of explosion proof electrical systems and compressed air piping systems. The off-site work included driveway of approximately 2500-square foot of reinforced concrete slab. 2CMD was General Contractor for $600,000 contract. Constr
Replace Base-wide Potable Water Lines Phase V, NASJRB, Fort Worth, TX. 2CMD was prime design build contractor for engineering design, quality assurance and overall project management for a $1.5- million design-build contract with the US Navy. The project consists of replacing approximately 8,000 linear feet of 6-inch, 8-inch and 12-inch waterline. The work includes pipe bursting and boring of a new waterline to replace the existing lines, replacing existing fire hydrants and providing new fire hydrants. Design-Build
Army Reserve Center, 2 Hutments, Seagoville, TX. This assignment involved provision of all equipment, supervision, labor, materials and supplies necessary to design and build two dormitorystyle hutments, and install site grading and drainage controls, a French drain system and crushed granite. Design-Build
Falcon AFB Dining Facility, Colorado Springs, CO. Structural design for an addition to and renovation of the Base dining facility. Responsibilities included attending a three-day design charette to evaluate and establish the user need, base facility availability and funding agency budget limitations. Construction administration assistance was provided to the Base Contracting Officer during project construction. * Design CM
Little Rock AFB Igloo Repairs, Little Rock, AR. Structural engineering design of the rehabilitation of 11 secure ordnance storage igloos built in the 1940s, from initial in-field inspection through drawings and specifications, and final repair. Responsibilities included documenting existing igloo conditions and providing drawings and specifications for water infiltration prevention measures for the humidity sweating drainage system, and repair of concrete cracks. * Design
Little Rock AFB C-130 Squadron Operations and Associated Facilities, Little Rock, AR.
Structural engineering for one 6,000-square foot and two 42,000- square foot . Structural systems consisted of light gauge steel frame gable roof trusses with steel deck, topped with standing seam metal roof system, supported by steel beam and column system enclosed by brick and block wall facade system. Shallow concrete footings and grade beams support the foundation system. Contract documents were done in SI (metric) units. * Design
McKinney Job Corps Center Dormitory, McKinney, TX. Structural engineering of a new one-story, 30,000-square foot dormitory, which included a floating slab-on-grade with a structural grade beam supported by a straight shaft pier foundation. The superstructure wall consists of light gauge metal studs with brick fascia supporting wood trusses with a composition asphalt shingle roof. Construction phase duties included coordinating engineering RFIs, change orders and construction contract adjustments. * Design
Altus AFB Chapel, Altus, OK. Design for renovation and addition to the base chapel. Responsibilities included design of structural modifications to the existing structure for vertical and lateral loads to meet the present building code, while maintaining the historic values of the building structure. * Design
Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade, McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, McAlister, OK. This “fast-track” design-build project involved structural design and detailing of modifications to the installation’s wastewater treatment plant. Modified plant components included scum baffle, UV filters, influent channel, bar screen, grit removal chamber, chlorine contact chambers, sedimentation pond systems and related infrastructure. The project also included design of a walkway bridge into the sedimentation pond for access to the discharge valve. * Design
Fort Bliss Drainage System Design, El Paso, TX. Performed structural design for a pump house, manholes and associated drainage infrastructure. * Design
