Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Base Building, Lake Front Airport, New Orleans, LA. Structural design and design management for a $2.5-million design build reconstruction project for the FAA. The project consists of restructuring a new 3,500-square foot elevated base building damaged by hurricane Katrina. The building was redesigned on the existing concrete slab, with a beam and timber pile foundation to resist 140-mph wind loads. Design-Build

Air Cargo Facility, Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, Gulfport, MS. Structural engineering for a one-story, 25-foot high, 200 foot x 200 foot air cargo facility building with a 2-story, 6,000-square foot lean-to office area and 5,000-square foot fumigation building. The structural system consists of conventional structural steel supported on steel H-shaped driven piles with concrete pile caps along with 8” concrete floor slab system. Loading/unloading truck docks and a related parking area are included in the project. Design

Multi-Level Parking Structure, Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, Gulfport, MS. This project involved acting as the Owner’s/Operator’s Representative, assisting in the preparation of a design-build Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for 300 surface parking spaces and a three-level concrete parking structure to accommodate 800 cars. The project included preparing RFQ documents for the invitation to contractors to perform design and construction of the parking structure within the guidelines of the Airport Agency. Design

Blue Grass Airport, Lexington, KY. Civil design of tarmac and taxiway pavement for the replacement of pavements impacted by the expansion of the terminal building. The assignment involved grading, pavement design and marking, including relocation of the existing utilities and the deicing flow system. Design

Southwest Airlines Maintenance Hangar AFFF System, Dallas, TX
. Structural design for the retrofit of the AFFF fire suppression system for a three-bay aircraft maintenance facility. * Design

DFW Structural ID/IQ, DFW International Airport, TX.
This indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity
(IDIQ) contract involved structural inspection services. 2CMD was part of a team of consultants that assessed and inspected structural conditions of landside bridges, substructures, high mast light poles and 14 parking garages serving 5 terminals and rent-a-car facility, and made recommendations for repair and maintenance of those facilities. The observations resulted in field reports comprising condition ratings of various structural andfunctional elements of the garages. QA/QC

DFW Automated People Mover (APM) Maintenance Facility, DFW International Airport, TX.
Managed inspector’s contract for the construction of the APM maintenance facility for DFW International Airport. Project responsibilities included hiring construction inspectors for 24/7 APM track work, and attending construction meetings to evaluate personnel, schedules, and the ongoing need for Quality Control inspectors. The assignment also included handling all related human resources tasks. * Design

Terminal A, B, C, and E Paving Expansion and Terminal B Deicing Liquid (Glycol) Recovery System, DFW International Airport, TX. A three year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract consist of grading, drainage, and paving design for apron AEP53 paving, taxiway, WiskeyKilo (WK), Hotel Yankee (HY) and JA. Other tasks included airfield lighting, pavement marking geometric layouts, identify haul routes, and utility relocations. Other tasks included construction sequencing, paving quantities, cost estimates, and change orders. Terminal B contract included deicing liquid (glycol) recovery system consisting of detailed design, specification cost estimates for DFW’s pilot glycol recovery system. The new system encompassed modification of two existing glycol load-off sites for new recovery system. Additional task included detailed design and specifications for a gravity and force pumped system to collect, store, and dispose of surface runoff from aircraft deicing operations. The glycol system is designed to meet NPDES storm water discharge permit requirements. * Design CM
